Monster Butt Trainers
These are really what started it all, my bread and butter. I designed these for my son after buying several types of trainers and all of them ending up in wet pants and wet floors. Let's just say that potty training him was a complete nightmare and he had zero desire to be done with diapers at 3 1/2 years old.
My trainers were developed with the hope that he could pull them up and down himself and that they would catch his accidents, especially while we were out and about. I went through a few different ideas before I came up with the final pattern.
Monster Butt trainers are made from fleece. There is no elastic to dig into the kids legs and no PUL. Fleece is commonly used as diaper covers due to the fabric's water repellent features. Fleece works wonders for many heavy wetters allowing breathability and comfort, however the heaviest may still have compression wicking when sitting or laying in the same position for extended periods of time. So, per the request of my customers I have added the option of using one layer of fleece over one layer of PUL through the center panel.
The trainers started out as a pull up style only, but I have altered my pattern to allow for a side snapping version that makes clean up for younger beginning potty trainers much easier. Currently all trainers are pocket style and do not come with an insert making them perfect for parent who already cloth diaper and have pre-folds or inserts laying around. However, I am currently working on offering a snap in insert option. The inserts will be made of a combination of cotton and hemp fabric and I am hoping to be able to offer these starting in July or August at the latest.
These trainers have received almost exclusively positive reviews so far and have helped many parents and children reach potty training goals.
This is a little list I put together that details the differences between the standard fleece option, PUL options and the differences between the pull up and snapping style trainers.
Features of standard fleece option:

- 2 layers of fleece on center panel making them ideal for night time use
(1 layer options are available upon request)
- Fleece pocket for absorbency
- No elastic to prevent red marks. The natural stretch of the fleece makes them fit for a while without need for elastic
PUL option features:
- 1 layer of pul through center panel (wetzone) covered with 1 layer of fleece.
- All fleece outer (side panel, waist band and leg bands)
- Pocket for absorbency
- No elastic to prevent red marks.
- Pocket will be made of fleece also, unless special arrangements have been made with me. I can do minky/crushed panne (depending on what fabric is available) pocket/inner for $1 more
Pull up vs. Snap style:

- Snap style are easier to stuff because you can lay them out flat.
- Snap style makes it easier to clean up dirty messes for kids who are just starting to potty train an still have full blown accidents.
- Both styles are great for kids who want to pull up/down their own underwear. The pocket on the inside prevents the inserts from falling out or becoming dislodged in the process.
- Pull up style have tighter pockets and are easiest to stuff when turned inside out. The tight pocket holds the insert in place very well.
So, if you have any questions about the trainers feel free to ask. I can make them custom to your child's measurements or I can do our standard sizes.
